Buenos Aires Immersion
Our overseas Hands-on Spanish workshop this year will be in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from June 3rd to June 9th. This is an intensive, hands-on, collaborative experience that combines Spanish learning, volunteer work and multimedia storytelling.
A Different Approach
The primary goal of Project Spanish Workshops is to create a once in life experience in which participants discover the power of using a second language to make a difference in other people’s lives. In addition to doing volunteer work during the day, workshop students write script and produce a 4-7 minutes digital story in Spanish documenting their journey. Participants work under the supervision of Valeria Gracia, the director of Voluntario Global in Argentina and Valeria Elliott, the founder of Spanish Inspired in the United States. They are both native Spanish speakers with extensive experience in language acquisition, travel and service learning. College students are encouraged to use this experience as part of their independent studies curriculum. All volunteer, learning and creative work is done in a collaborative, educational and hands-on environment.
