The Team
Valeria
Valeria is a social entrepreneur and international lawyer (LLM, JD) who designs cross-border ventures that economically empower marginalized women. As Founder & CEO of Spanish Inspired, she pioneered an innovative business model where US consumer spending on education funds sustainable social enterprises serving immigrant women in Valencia, Spain. Her work bridges expertise in international law, U.S. Latino Studies, and impact venture building to prove that women's economic empowerment isn't just a social good; it's a scalable, profitable business model.
Before founding Spanish Inspired, Valeria volunteered with Valencia's Red Cross, teaching Spanish to Moroccan immigrant women in the Safor area. This work revealed critical gaps between education and economic opportunity. The granddaughter of a Valencian immigrant who built a successful company in Argentina in the 1900s, she returned to Valencia to create pathways for today's immigrants, demonstrating that privilege can be redistributed when business models are designed for justice from the start. She mentors women founders and speaks on cross-border social enterprise design, impact measurement, and building businesses that center community wealth generation.
Nicole
Nicole is a pre-law advocate and co-founder who combines direct service experience with strategic legal empowerment programming for immigrant families. With ten years of experience tutoring immigrant children in Valencia, she has deep insight into the educational barriers, rights violations, and systemic challenges facing families navigating Spanish institutions while lacking linguistic or legal capital. Her work focuses on protecting immigrant women through legal literacy training, advocating for children's educational rights, and developing youth leadership programs that model pathways to justice careers.
As Co-Founder & Justice Programs Director, Nicole designs and implements programs spanning workers' rights education, school discrimination advocacy, and the Future Lawyers Club for immigrant youth—building a comprehensive portfolio of justice work while preparing for law school. Her immersive language experiences in Mexico, Argentina, and Spain inform her understanding of how language access intersects with economic opportunity, legal protection, and social integration. Nicole brings next-generation perspectives on social enterprise to the founding team: that businesses must be accountable to communities they serve, that legal empowerment and economic opportunity are inseparable, and that authentic change requires long-term relationship building, not transactional charity.
